Biography

Ms. Morrison's educational leadership philosophy is grounded in collaboration, kindness, and accountability. She believes that effective leaders must be adaptable, continuously seek growth, and maintain respect for those they lead. Her approach is transformational, allowing her to adjust to the unique needs of each situation and foster meaningful progress. With nearly 30 years of experience in education, she has had the opportunity to mentor, train, and support both teachers and administrators, on the elementary and secondary levels. She has served as an adjunct professor at Virginia Union University for the College of Education. Her leadership experience spans both district and school-based roles, particularly in the areas of special education instruction, compliance, and Tier 3 interventions. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Xavier University of Louisiana to deepen her expertise and expand her impact in the field. She is especially passionate about helping students plan for postsecondary success. 

She previously served as the District Compliance and Instructional Coordinator for PCPS through the Department of Special Education. Formerly:

• Dyslexia Advisor, and Chair for the PCPS Virginia Literacy Act (VLA)
• District Special Projects Administrator for Fairfax Co. Public Schools
• Virginia Union University School of Education Adjunct Professor (2020-2024)
• District Academic Intervention Specialist/Dyslexia Advisor/LETRS Coordinator Richmond City Public Schools

Ms. Morrison has experience in Elementary and Secondary Instruction in the public and private sectors of education. Ms. Morrison brings experience from Halifax Co. Public Schools, St. Joseph’s Villa-Richmond VA, Chesterfield Co. Public Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools, and Petersburg City Public Schools.
